We continue to be astounded by how eager our hosts are to promote the Eye for Love Tour. Back on May 5, Bob Krause hosted our tour of Schreiber, Ontario. Bob is from a family that settled in Schreiber two generations before he was born in 1935. He has left three new generations in his wake and has devoted much of his life to improving the small town at the top of Lake Superior. He shared about his love of the town in his interview with us (click here for an excerpt).
His imposing presence belies a generous soul. Cathy, our waitress at Pina's Voyageur Restaurant, told us what he came to mean to her and her family shortly after they came north from Chatham about a dozen years ago. They moved into a house just down the street from Bob, and he acted like a parent to them, helping them adjust to their new life.
When there was a death in her husband's family, Cathy was going to be alone while he went to the funeral. They were touched and amazed when Bob showed up, offering his new truck so that Cathy would not be stuck if she had to drive somewhere. When asked why, Bob simply said, "Isn't that what fathers are for?"
