My friend Cheryl wrote me about the Love Tour: "I guess it must be pretty darned amazing overall! It is a very exciting adventure and a wonderful opportunity for people to express a part of them that they seldom have the opportunity to share."
That observation is truer than I would have believed before starting on this journey. I recently heard back from someone we interviewed, and I was shocked to learn she is facing the prospect of going into a temporary women's shelter. She wrote: "IT WAS A GREAT HONOR TO MEET YOU GUYS AND YOUR SPIRIT SOMEHOW HAS LIFTED ALL ANXIETY I HAD TO REACH BACK MY HOME..KNOWING I WAS FACING SUCH INCERTITUDES HERE..."
Often we learn more about the people we interview after the camera is turned off, as if the interview has provided a release. This was the case for all three interviews we did today in Thunder Bay's Intercity Mall: Gwen, who spoke of the way her love for her late husband eclipses all other love in her life. Rick, who sees music as his most reliable friend. And Sid, who held up two gorgeous purple stones from his own amethyst mine and said: "This is love."
